Google Maps and Waze add live fuel prices in the UK

Drivers can compare nearby petrol and diesel prices by searching either app, with available fuel types grouped by station.

A folded road map leads toward a modern fuel station with three abstract fuel-price panels.

In a page published Oct. 8, 2026, Google says it is launching fuel prices in the UK on Google Maps and Waze. The feature gives motorists a way to compare petrol and diesel costs at nearby stations before deciding where to stop.

Google says it developed the feature with the UK government and the UK Waze community. Fuel Finder supplies what the company describes as a real-time view of nearby prices, bringing the comparison into apps many drivers already use for directions.

How the search works

Drivers can search for “petrol” or “fuel” in Maps or Waze to see the latest listed prices. A station view also gathers prices for the different fuel types it offers, which should make it easier to compare the relevant grade rather than a single headline figure.
