The tool converts gigabytes to megabits and divides by the speed entered.
How it works
Uses decimal units: 1 GB equals 8,000 megabits. Protocol overhead, Wi-Fi conditions, drive speed and congestion make real transfers slower.
Example
A 10 GB file at 100 Mbps takes about 800 seconds, or 13 minutes 20 seconds, before overhead.
Limitations
- Uses ideal sustained speed.
