BMW's autumn 2026 update adds new 7 Series and X5 choices

Three six-cylinder 7 Series models are headed to Germany, while the X5 range adds two plug-in hybrids and an electric iX5 with up to 850 kilometers of combined WLTP range.

BMW says its autumn 2026 range update includes the start of production and German-market launch of three new 7 Series models. Separately, BMW says three variants from the new X5 generation will launch in the coming months, without identifying exact markets or dates for those launches. Across the two model lines, the additions include diesel-designated, plug-in-hybrid, M Performance and fully electric models.

The new X5 choices are the X5 50e xDrive and X5 M60e xDrive plug-in hybrids, plus the electric iX5 60 xDrive. BMW reports combined WLTP energy consumption from 22.5 to 19.3 kWh per 100 kilometers for the iX5, carbon dioxide emissions of 0 grams per kilometer, and an electric range from 723 to 850 kilometers. BMW labels these as combined WLTP figures.

Smaller changes reach existing models

BMW will offer eight Individual two-tone paint finishes across every engine variant of the 7 Series and i7. The 218d, 220d and 225e xDrive Active Tourer will receive 17-inch Star-spoke style 875 alloy wheels as standard, replacing the previous 16-inch wheels.

The X3 gains lighting in the center-console storage area, an ambient-lit grab handle, a new glove-box opener and revised instrument-panel stitching. Most versions also receive a stainless-steel loading-sill insert, but BMW excludes the X3 20 xDrive and X3 20d xDrive from that particular change.
